The 1996 Hasbro Toy Fair catalog was a treasure trove of exciting new playthings. Buried amongst the pages were glimpses of prototypes from the highly anticipated Shadows of the Empire line, giving fans a sneak peek at what was to come from the galaxy far, far away. Though the catalog showcased plenty of fun new toys, it was the early looks at Boba Fett, Dash Rendar, and other characters from Shadows that really got fans buzzing with anticipation. For Star Wars devotees, it was like striking beskar - those prototype pictures were our first look at the next chapter in the saga. While we still had to wait for the toys to hit shelves, the catalog provided a thrilling preview of the epic adventures that awaited.
