Shadows of the Empire Packaging Design Line Look
In 1996, Kenner developed the Shadows of the Empire segment to coincide with the Power of the Force 2 toy line. Early conceptual designs include Prince Xizor as the base for developing the line look.
There were a wide range of conceptual ideas pitched for the Shadows of the Empire carded action figure line. Since this segment was designed to coincide with the Power of the Force 2 toy line, the line look was based on the traditional Darth Vader helmet. Early concepts include a green mock up card. However, color was changed to purple for the U.S. market and red/orange for the international market.
